On September 13, 2026, Nigerian news outlet The Punch published a report detailing an imminent critical minerals deal between the US and Nigeria, set to be signed at this year’s UN General Assembly.
Days later, the report was gone, from The Punch’s as well as other mainstream Nigerian news websites.
Why was this report deleted? Do certain events leading up to its deletion hold an answer? And why should Africans, especially Nigerians, be very concerned?
African Proverb Of The Week
Colonialism didn’t die when the last European colonial forces left the African continent. It evolved, mutated and hid behind African faces.
Then the history of this trick was systematically erased, from our educational curricula, our literature and our public discourse. The carefully-engineered ignorance of the African masses is a big part of what keeps the world’s most resource-rich continent impoverished today. But that history was not fully erased. It survives in the Pan-Africanist writings and voices that Africans have been so thoroughly socialized to ignore.
This West African proverb reminds of the danger of this continued ignorance. There is pepper in our eyes, and to truly get it out, we must remember why and how it was put there in the first place.
Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala: We Need An Africa-Wide Movement To Fight Western Puppets
South African MP Dr. Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala (@KhanyisileLt on X) says desperation has led Africans to worry more about filling their bellies than organising a continent-wide movement for Pan-Africanism.
What do you think is stopping this movement from emerging? Drop us a comment.
We Are Not Foundational Black Americans!
In this clip, African-American political commentator Chainslayer, vehemently refutes the ridiculous claim that Black people in the US are “foundational,” as in native to and belonging to the United States.
This is a claim that has been vigorously pushed by the so-called “Foundational Black American” (FBA) movement, whose leadership has funding ties with the right-wing Heritage Foundation. The FBA movement has incubated a pseudoreligious, self-denialist belief system surrounding the identity of Black people in the US, including fierce refusal to acknowledge their African heritage, anti-historical denial of the centuries-long kidnapping, tr*fficking and ensl*vement of Africans in the Americas, and reflexive hostility toward any other African-heritage populations, including Caribbeans and continental Africans.

Sudan’s Army Liberates More Cities From US & UAE-Backed RSF
Sudan’s army, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), continues to make gains against the US and UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. On September 18, 2026, the SAF announced the liberation of 11 more localities from the g*nocidal RSF, and the retreat of the latter to its ever-dwindling strongholds in the country.
The externally-fueled proxy war in Sudan officially entered its fourth year this April 2026. Across the resource-rich North African nation, millions remain displaced, facing hunger, disease and death in what many are calling the worst humanitarian crisis of our time, while the “international community” continues to turn a blind eye.
