The West’s Democracy Lie: Loyalty for Allies, Condemnation for Africa
Western powers often present democracy as a universal standard, but in practice, that standard shifts depending on who is serving their interests.
Leaders who align with Western agendas are defended, excused, or repackaged, even when their democratic records are questionable. But African leaders who challenge foreign control, reclaim resources, and push for sovereignty are quickly labelled dangerous, illegitimate, or undemocratic.
This is the real double standard.
The question Africans must ask is simple: why should we judge Pan-African leaders through a democratic lens designed by the same powers that have historically undermined African independence?
Dr Joshua Maponga Criticises African Men’s Obsession With Football
Are you obsessed with football clubs and artificial nails?
Author and philosopher Joshua Maponga has some harsh words of criticism for chronically distracted African men who obsess over trivialities while a few of their counterparts lead productive liberation struggles to beat back continued colonialism on our continent.

Félix Houphouët-Boigny: The Man Who Betrayed Africa
On March 6, 1957, Ghana’s first President and Pan-Africanist icon, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, stood at the helm of a newly-independent Ghana, and shared his vision of a truly sovereign, truly united and truly powerful Africa.
That vision was cut short on February 24, 1966, when Nkrumah was overthrown in a CIA-backed coup.
9 years before this coup, and a month after his nation’s independence, Nkrumah went to Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire, for a high-level meeting with the country’s first President and full-throated stooge of the West, Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
Africa would perhaps look very different today, if Nkrumah had really understood the intentions of the person he was meeting.
This is the story of how one man betrayed an entire continent.

Barr. Maxwell C. Opara: The Worst People To Deal With Are ‘Oyibo’ People
Can we thank Donald Trump for being real with Africans?
That’s what Barrister Maxwell C. Opara argues in this video. The Nigerian lawyer & human rights activist explains that most Western leaders will claim to be in solidarity with Africans while taking actions to destroy the continent behind the scenes.
The reality is many African liberation fighters have fallen on a sword funded by the Brits, the French, the Belgians and the Americans. That’s not to mention how many foreign corporations profit off Africa’s natural resources and people without any proper compensation.
Do you think it’s a good thing that Trump does not mince his words about his country’s sinister plans for Africa? Let us know in the comments.

European Youth Parliament Boos Black UK Councillor Calling for Reparations
Months after Seyi Akiwowo defended a refugee against anti-immigrant remarks at the 2016 European Youth Event, the Black former UK local councillor spent more than two hours reporting a tirade of online r*cial and s*xual harassment.
However, what Akiwowo argues is backed by facts, as Europe’s centuries-long rampage across the world has led to a flood of people seeking refuge into the very countries that have caused their misery.
In 2021, Brown University’s Costs of War project calculated that the US-led wars kicked off post-9/11 had displaced over 38 million people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, the Philippines, Libya and Syria. Note that that’s a conservative estimate.
